To update everyone it does indeed seem like there are discontinued.
I just phoned Aldi customer service and they have said they are now discontinued.
We now need @Onoff to let us know how far he got when testing and printing adapters.
I would imagine there are quite a few people who would buy a converter or two tookeep their ferrex tools going.

Um...
Makita battery to Ferrex. It worked but I needed to add the 10k resistor in.
We sort of got somewhere if I recall doing Bosch battery to Ferrex?
Hate to say "I told you so" to anyone on all this but just another example of the country being flooded by cheap Chinese crap that becomes unsupported. They're cleverer than us!

Exactly...it seems like a dewalt battery to ferrex tool would be worth doing.
and possibly lidl brand to ferrex..

If it helps the ferrex uses a similar but longer slot, so it may be a case of extending the parkside adaptor a d re arranging the pins. the parkside batteries are short, they slide in but do not reach the pins, pic of my ferrex to parkside to show:
Mine does not allow parkside to clip in properly but its a tight enough fit (for ground use) thi the jigsaw did vibrate out occasionally.

Just remembered, Lidl and Ferrex both work similar way so instead of the resistor being needed, the centre battery pin goes to the centre half pin on the ferrex. The 2nd and 4th pins are for the double 20v/40v batterys.
Im not sure how well my adaptor would print but happy to measure/draw it out later, Id suggest its better to have a seperate slot for the parkside - would have been much more effort to do that in layered abs!

I only have a £15 ferrex 20v brushless grinder but amazon have small batteries for just over £20. It came from amazon eu .
I'd bought one battery ages ago from aldi reduced bin to pinch batteries for another tool but didn't get round to it.
I also have dewalt and ryobi where like makita aftermarket batteries are readily available.
I've actually had more original batteries fail than the ebay specials!

The batteries don't really 'fail' there are two fusible links inside. If you horse the grinder too much it blows the fuse but you can pop the casing open with a small security torx screwdriver, jamb a 5a mini blade fuse under the link and hot glue it in place.

Must admit even brushless grinder on 20v 2ah doesn't last long but with 1mm blade it's handy out and about.
I don't use it much but reckon total cost was £30 so not complaining!
