I have been asked to make a 2m tall stilletto shoe for a big fashion company, it goes to some big trade show then ends up in their posh HQ.
I first said I cold not do it but was told I was the man for the job.
They explained they want an open basket structure made up of swoopy lines. I like swoopy so I said ok. Then found it has a tight lead time ie byMarch 13th.
Then my steel company ballsed up my order and I did not get it until Monday this week and rusted to hell from sitting on a truck for a week. Ho Hum. I was also out of town Tuesday and Wednesday, so I have week to get it sorted.
I was given a beautiful shoe as a sample. I have never looked closely at these before. is this a fetich starting? I now keep is carefully 'discarded' in my front room to confuse visitors. Very effective.
Jigging up the heel, new magnetic jigs are the bees knees
Chuffed to bits with the heel it even stands up by itself.
Rolling the sole, a hilarious game I won and did not lose too much blood. my first time using these big rollers in anger. I was amazed to get it right first time.
Then I welded a lip of 10mm bar all the way round the edge and next stage is a layer of 30x5mm strip on it's edge for the sole. Two days in and I am a happy bunny and can see that all my stupid ideas will work.
Next stage is go right round the edges with strip then start making the top infills.
