Right shape for cast iron welding rods but wrong colour, do they snap rather than bend? Maybe you get coated cast iron rods like copper coated mild steel gas welding rods? I don't know. Tried them with TIG ac & DC not a good idea like sparklers smoke and crap no weld
Cheers for the advice. I'll give it a go once work settles down again for 5 minutes.Grind down the weld and add a welded strap across each side, for further support/strength, is my suggestion. That is how I repaired a vise that was used for years, before being replaced by a better one.
