Bargain alert - pedals

One of the finest ac tig arcs ever produced imo.
Like I said though. Very hard to get spares for now and optional extras etc are difficult to come by too. Those pedals are a rare find and the pulse remotes are like RHS.

I am tempted, just need to see what I could get for my r-tech water cooled setup.

All I would want to add is a pedal, I never use pulse as I rarely do stainless any more, it's nearly all alu or stick.

Good on sticks too.
Got all the settings (hot start, arc force) and they run 6011's well. 6010's I've heard are a struggle as with most units. Well worth the investment if your up for lots of Alu as that is where that unit really shines. You won't of heard an ac arc so quiet. It's nothing more than a hmmmmmm. My Mls makes a row in comparison. I used to weld day in day out with a ewm 220 triton. Lovely machine but that used to make a right racket too. The mw was luxury to have a nice quiet ac arc.

I do regret selling mine sometimes. I sold it simply to have a modern one incase of spares etc the Fronius parts were becoming obsolete and the Mls was priced perfectly.
Mine was similar in condition to the one on eBay. Immaculate.

The pedal I admit would be of limited value to me but had thought it would make copper more fun and less frantic.

Really it's the cooler that caught my eye. I'm sort of hankering after a 20 torch now as the 17 is just damn clumsy at times but a 9 doesn't do 150A :/

I thought that but surely no-one is that daft? He's sold quite a bit a year ago then nowt.

There could be lots of legit reasons as to why he has these items and why he's selling them like he is. Like Hugh said £100 or less for those pedals and a faulty cool unit is a steal n half.

I also thought the gear might have been liberated but nothing concrete.

If anyone finds an SSC pedal with a 10K pot I'll happily convert it to fit an EWM for £60, it's more than just a plug, there is a little wiring mod needed in the pedal to fool the set into thinking it has a genuine pedal fitted.

Probably cheap enough to buy a new ssc pedal with the 10k then get it modified I would have thought Jim? I only paid about 130 for my pedal, landed, and I imagine that an ewm pedal is more than 200?

They list at £430, I sell them for a bit less, normally £375+VAT, so yes, an eye watering pedal at the best of times.

I buy in the SSC pedals 10 at a time and do them for about £295.
Sounds expensive and maybe it is but buying them like that means I need to sell a fair few before I make a profit and that takes a while, 10 pedals usually means selling 10 EWM Tetrix 230 machines and they don't go out every day.

As for smoothest AC arc, I think there might be a new contender for that accolade and its not EWM, Fronius or Kemppi. It's the suprise entry from GYS. Their 220 is an absolute belter, I had a long play on Monday using the various waveforms and I was deeply impressed. I was a bit sceptical before using it that it deserved a price tag close to the Tetrix 230 but after use I'd say it was fully justified (don't tell the GYS rep though cos I'm trying to get them cheaper!)

That's my machine.... Wow that's pretty impressive for the GYS considering the competition there. It is a cracker tho...

Ohhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I gotta try one of those then. There is something fantastic about a silky smooth Ac arc. Gotta give those gys guys lots of credit really. Those products have come on leaps and bounds over the last 10 years from s##t little boxes that were covering the spares/repairs ads on eBay to high quality products that you rarely hear a bad word said about. The pearl migs are another I'd like to get my hands on for a blast. Nice info Jim.

Aye, play time with the GYS bus :P I agree, their machines are getting more and more attractive.. I played with their Neopulse the other day and it made regular ally mig a breeze!

I find that my local rep is very stingy with the discounts, always uses the line "I don't need to discount it anymore as they're a really quality product.."
Which I can't help but agree with.
