It's said to be good for 100mtrs or more. I am sure I could get more with my heavy csbles@50 meters away its hardly likely unless u have a heavy supply

Yes I have one, it's just not practical to buy the pack as I can rent the pack if required from my supplierYou can still run the micor stick off the mains if it's available.
Running nu5 on a lower than normal setting more can be had. However 3.2mm 7018 as used on structural or 4mm and your going to drain a lot fasterWe normally get 20+ 2.5mm rods out of a full charge on our Lorch sets and as we have 3 in the building we can always borrow another battery to finish the job

The machine was delivered today but I was on site. Got a very quick play when I got back to the yard. Ran a 2.5 along the edges of a bit of 12mm flat.
First impressions are very good.
Will report back when I get a better look at things. Probably after the holidays as we're flat out.
Having trouble uploading photos. I'll try and get some tomorrow.
Very neat.

How do these fair up against the fronius battery welders.
Yeah they've had one about now for a short while.I didn't know Fronius made battery welders, we've got 3 of the Lorch models and they've saved the day a few times now
Yeah that steel pack back looks well handy. The backpack carrying frame is great for us as we can have an easily accessible job at ground level or it could be below ground in one of the lifter pits or overhead on the conveyor systems. We're normally all set up and ready to go before the internal fire brigade turn up to issue the hot work permit

I like the fact that the lorch is the standard unit with a battery add on. At least this way if the battery dies you've still got the option of plugging it in. Not sure if the fronius does this. Looks like the unit is all in one dedicated battery welder.
