How are you getting on with your machine?

Ive used mine for the first time today and I like it

Like it very much. Had to round the corners on some 4mm plate and it did it no problem. Mine is the Clarke version and seems good for the price. Got some zirconium belts for it but the original belt seemed fine also. It will definitely save some elbow grease in the finishing department.

Strange....I have one of these and my experience is not brilliant. I am not saying they are no good just that I could not get on with mine.

If yours is more recently made, perhaps they were just better quality when they first came out in the 80's?

If I remember correctly, I paid about the same then as you can buy them for now!

That's what i want to do, is it the non fluffy side that goes on the machine?

the back of the sanding pads are very slightly fluffy and thgats what the velcro grips and iirc the velcro was about 5" wide and comes in strips but i had no problems patching and trimming (its does stick well though) its been on for ages and no issues at all

Just a heads up, https://www.cromwell.co.uk/shop/abrasives/sanders/belt-and-disc-sander-370w/p/KBE2714140K Cromwell are knocking them out for £80 which includes P&P. Just got mine. Seems okay for light work.

I have a nutool badged version of this - bought second hand with a busted switch (fixed with a 20a fused light switch)
It gets used mainly to sharpen my pencil at the moment.


(No. That's NOT a euphemism)

But: in seriousness: good bit of kit. Gets used a LOT
(Also good for sharpening pencils)
