Having been on holiday I've just gotten to unboxing the replacement bench shear you sent me.

I am absolutely stunned to find it's actually worse than the first one you sent, quite really quite gobsmacked. It's welded even more off square than the first.

I really don't know what to make of it or do. Your company is clearly not a proper engineering supply company but a seller of badly made, cheap Chinese rubbish. It's quite clear that nobody understood or cared about any original complaint. The maker's QA/QC procedures must be non existent.

If you send me yet another then no doubt that will be just as bad unless you can advise otherwise?

My only option is to seek a refund or maybe cut and re-weld it square myself.

Aa a customer I really shouldn't have to be going through all this.

Tempted to grind the base plates off and re-weld square.

Might be worth it if it keeps its edge.

I don't know if I've the energy to complain again. Gobsmacked that the ("clearly of foreign descent") contact couldn't grasp the original issue and that they sent me something out that's has the same issue but worse. They're not proper engineering suppliers just purveyors of cheap Chinese tat.

Imported by the container load by a load of trilby-wearing, camel-hair-coated know-nothings who only think of the profit.

As part of the decision process I tried it out on some 1.6mm stainless. Had to put the handle on but it certainly did it, the waste bit curled:

To align the blades, I had to drill and tap some holes between the bottom blade mounting bolts for jack bolts on mine. With a little patience you can then adjust the blade alignment perfectly.

I need use of a mill to make a fence out of some angle (for whichever shear I end up with). Might have to go visit the BiL. Not used his mill since I made my sheet metal folder:

I have no idea why it concerns me at all really but I got a bee in my bonnet and I just have to.

I simply cannot accept this item was so badly welded out of square using bent, deformed parts AND THEN went through the process of painting AND THEN assembly before being packaged without anyone else noticing the entire thing is bent. Plus it then needs an essay on how each step of the fabrication got so many individual processes wrong to account for the multiple points of failure.

Rather than accept that when you ship a heavy item half way around the world in ten ton pallets, sometimes they get squashed..

Here is the added angle on mine I found it useful to extend it out further than the length of the blade to help feed bigger sheets in

So I paid £69.98 for this including shipping.

The seller has come back, again apologetic, suggesting this one is "from the same batch". They've offered a full refund or I keep it and they'll part refund me £25.

Would you pay £50 quid for something that's fallen off the back of a lorry? Chances are they bought a damaged pallet of goods.

I'd be wanting all my money back thanks. They'll probably let you keep it anyway...

So I picked this up the other day with yet-another-vice. It has issues! Not sure how clear it is from the photos but that's not lens distortion, this thing is bent! First job was to strip it down and throw it in a bucket of acid. Next job will be to unbend it! Probably a fair bit of...

I never did get another 12" shear.

Vevor were showing out of stock back around April. I wrote to them and they said they should have more "in a couple of weeks". Now it appears to be discontinued!
