+1For grippers and stuff. Bacho
Quite expensive, not snap on expensive like but they're really good. Esp side cutters (honestly I cut screws and nails with the things and they're still sharp ever after years of misuse) . And more ergonomic than knipex I find.
A lot of the snap on stuff like that is bahco rebranded
Ive two pairs of snap on 9 inch and a pair of snap on 7 inch linesmans ,,, but most of the time I just lift a forty year old pair of 6 inch Lucas elliot .
recently ive been using the snap on pistol grip pliers with the funny front on them and they are way better than they look.
Guess it depends on what you actually want to do with them . Ive about thirty pairs of pliers or more , but still its the old lucas I lift.
Ive not included vise grips , mole grips , or anything else ,,, oh , and no circlip pliers ,,,30 pairs, amateur
30's a bit overboard. I've probably got about ten, but scattered in different boxes. Combo pliers are like one of those things in every tool kit. I keep tool kits. Carry out car box. Home box(stuff not covered in grease and ****). Elecy box. Telco/network bag, with specifics in them. Some big long blacksmith stuff but I don't really class those as pliers. They're more like tong grips.30 pairs, amateur
Ive a fair few pairs of Knipex mostly long reach , 45 degree long reach . chain link and lots of small pointy nose flat nose , smooth flat etc etc , and have found them to be grand , they do as well as the lindstoms I have and they are about a third of the price , value for money Knipex are hard to beat.Apparently the Knipex aren't that great so looking for alternatives.
Always told the snap on ones were the best?
I'm still using my dads Lucas Elliot 2169-8 pliers - they were certainly well used by him when I was a small kid . . . I'm 52 now and I've had them 37 yrs . . . serrations in the flat part of the jaw well worn, but still work freely and easily - only real damage is the end of the one of the red handle coverings has always been split.Ive two pairs of snap on 9 inch and a pair of snap on 7 inch linesmans ,,, but most of the time I just lift a forty year old pair of 6 inch Lucas elliot .

Ill bet Ive the matching pair ,, lol , even down to the split in the end ,,, I use the glue lined heat shrink to plastic coat the Lindstrom pliers I use at work , makes a very tidy job.I'm still using my dads Lucas Elliot 2169-8 pliers - they were certainly well used by him when I was a small kid . . . Probably useless info for anyone wanting a new pair though - no idea if they still make them.
