don’t care about the name just want a inline 4 was going to get a 400rr but they fetch stupid money nowBandits are good bikes, strong motors, bit heavy but handle well. They can suffer bad rust in the frame in front of the engine near the exhaust downpipes, so look carefully for that if you are new to buying bikes.
I'm pleased the humble cb500s get a mention here. I've had a few and they are brilliant, really underrated bikes. You won't get the Bandit name but if you want a good bike to serve your A2 time on, learn basic maintenance, cheap to run etc the CB gets my vote. Thundersport nutters still race them if you want to watch some close racing!

That’s what I was after a fully faired bike but couldn’t find anything that’s a 4cylinder and 94hp or less within my budgetAin't going to get an fjr into a2 licensing.
Er-6 is also a good option but is twin,
Mt07 (twin but naked)
Cbr650 is a cracking bike also failed and 4cyl but probably out of budget if looking at bandit 600.
I know it's a long shot but what about something fully faired.
My first big bike was a yamaha thunder cat.
R6 engine in a sports tourer package.
Zzr600?
Gsf600 (ugly but good)

Any jap bike that's been in storage have your wallet fully primed...brake overhaul, full strip down of the fuel system etc plus why was it put away and not sold. Ive stopped buying bikes that have been stored now as there are too many of them being used daily and a known quantityAnd what would you lit say on a 90 cbr600f that’s been in storage since 2016
The zzr is 99hp according to google so no good Suzuki is a possibilityAin't going to get an fjr into a2 licensing.

I’ve got 2 k to pay for the test and bike so I’d say 1-1.2k for a bike and don’t mind doing work if it’s cheap enoughWhat's your budget and do you mind working on it first??
I also had a Thundercat. Got rid of it pretty quick. One of the worst bikes I've ever had for servicing. The fairing is brittle and put together like a Krypton Factor puzzle.
