Hopefully the return spring just needs tightening a notch. At worst, you would need a new spring.

The quill on a mill is not supposed to snap upwards when you release the handle, like on a drill press. The spring needs adjusting so the quill is close to neutral - it does not droop or raise but stays where it is or rises very gently when you let go.

Thats what im hoping , even though thousands made prices for spares are a bit rich for me.

Theres a guy on FB selling some bits i need at a fair price , i need a handle for the sensitive feed on the head I was going to make one but he wants £25 so cant complain at that
