Thank you, that would be helpful.

you can choose which direction to travel
i'm left handed, and I will pull a gas Mig from left to right, but stick welding is always from right to left.
60 hours? Wow ! I'm going to be putting in a few hours practice each night to get this right, didn't realise how tricky it could be.
I was sort of wondering about the angle, i wasn't sure whether or not to angle it at the same 45 degree angle as when doing the root pass, or just run it like a standard bead..
i also did 60 hours for level 1 and 60 hours for level 2 saying that i managed to do MIG and ARC in that time probably did more then 60 hours aswell seeing as i have MIG , TIG and ARC welders at home ahah!
its all the practise tbh and im only 20 ahha! although I'll probably never do it as a job as im doing a HND in electrical engineering always a good skill to have!
That makes sense, I'm right handed and I'll Mig "right to left" and stick "left to right", one's pushing the other's pulling.

Where there's slag, you drag............................
But you can't always weld the way you find natural, so you have to be able to do it both ways.Thats good to hear I just thought it was me being strange.
got the results of the stick tonight,i passed!
tig test on friday, and starting the mig course a week after
flat out!
