My point is its very dangerous to do this unless you are fully aware of how to do it safely.
This is a bloke who has been dealing with Bottled gas for years

John Webster fined for St Helens gas explosion

The managing director of a gas supply firm is fined after an explosion in which he and an employee suffered multiple burns.

He wasn't doing it not safely, he was doing it stupidly. From the link:

The boss of a St Helens gas supply firm has been fined £22,500 after an explosion in which he and an employee suffered multiple burns.
John Webster, director of North West Gases Ltd, had been removing the valve of a liquefied petroleum gas cylinder on 10 April, 2008 when it ignited.
The resulting fire and explosion set Webster's clothing on fire and another worker was thrown across the building.
Webster was found guilty of a breach of the Health and Safety at Work Act.

The explosion lifted the roof off the building in Alma Street, St Helens. A third employee sustained minor injuries.
Webster, of Archer Grove, St Helens, was fined £22,500 and ordered to pay prosecution costs of £2,500.
Health and Safety Executive inspector Warren Pennington said: "Mr Webster's failure to carry out even the most basic of safety checks led to what was an entirely preventable incident.
"He failed to ensure that the cylinder was empty and didn't check for any potential sources of ignition in the building, any of which could have caused this explosion.
"In this case, the fact that no-one was killed was simply down to luck."

With a bust up spine in three places , a well damaged left shoulder joint and an artificial left knee not having the 6 kg lite replacements for the two in the caravan is going to make things awkward. I specifically changed over to the light weight ones precisely for that reason .

That was my thinking when I threw down over £3k to have bulk lpg tank installed at my house, rather than haul full size Calor gas bottles to the store to exchange them every couple of weeks. It's okay now, while I'm relatively healthy, but in years to come it would all have gone downhill.

If you do it that’s up to you but posting instructions on how to do it is an absolute no.

When we got the second hand 5 berth caravan about nine years ago converting to a rechargeable on board bottle system was just over £1500 plus VAT . professionally ( I use that word very lightly ) fitted.
I decided on the cheaper more available plastic light weight reinforced fibreglass Calor Lite bottles as at the time there weren't many places to fill up from bulk supply points around Wales and even less in Europe where we did a fair bit of trekking with the shed following.

Its really easy if you know how to do it safely and are competent at doing it

There is something very wrong here, I am struggling to see how Calor can legally deny an exchange or refund on a bottle they have charged a deposit on when they or their agents initially sold it I bet they would back pedal a bit sharpish if a group formed a legal challenge.

I think he has confused the issue through brevity. It is Flogas who will not accept a Calor 4.5kg butane as part exchange for a Flogas cylinder. The Flogas site has a very long list of ones they will exchange, but Calor are not on the Flogas list.

I exchanged one of my 4.5kg bottles for a 7kg bottle. They said no longer available and not sure if the 7kg bottle will fit yet, I don’t think it will. Might have to go for the smaller Camping Gaz 907.

My local Calor stockist wouldn't take my 4.5kg bottle in exchange for a 7kg, maybe it was just him and not company policy.

I've used 6kg in my caravans for 10 years or so. I've had a few lite ones in that time and they are nice. I always get a new bottle when on a caravan site when leaving and I don't think the site would have issues lifting it out of a locker if you ask them and putting the new one in.

I just get a refill when it's empty. Carry two 4.5 butane cylinders in the caravan. Nice handy size, will miss them.

Calor have always been stroppy, a family member used to deal with them as a retailer. The legal position is that Calor own the cylinders, the end user strictly is renting. My guess is that Calor leaned on Flo Gas threatening "something" if Flo Gas accepted Calor cylinders.

We use 4.5kg Butane on the boat and there's no space for anything bigger, so not sure what we're you g to do there.

You used to be able to because Calor just counted cylinders when settling up with the retailer, not itemising how many agreements or how many refills in each size. Then they started clamping down, would only supply say 19kg if the retailer had empty 19kg to return, plus a strict limit on new cylinders based on how many agreements the retailer had taken, again itemised by type and size.

But yes you used to be able to. We got our two 19kg propane for the house by handing in a couple of smaller butane that we picked up somewhere or other.
