It is a thing of beauty,, ferguson grey once I've scraped it in and I've already got a friend lined up to make me a handsome wood box for it.

A Fireball 12’’ is 200 euros inc vat, I could afford one at that sort of money, anywhere near or am I dreaming Clive?

Sorry Clive, I haven’t a clue when it comes to the cost of such things. As @123hotchef says, for my needs a welded square would be perfect.

Went to see another foundry today
They have been there for 200yrs
Had a little look in the pattern shed
Whilst there they were casting some ford 3.0 v6 Essex engine blocks

10&15” patterns nearly done and Swiss pattern modified to dovetail bevel by welding on a 45°
Going to foundry tomorrow

30” straight edge with a 20” and 30” square
These are from a new foundry in unfettled condition.
Obviously use more coarse sand but as long as metal is good I’m happy because they’re just over half the price
