I think the problem is your asking quite a specialised technical question - not many people would be able to confidently give you an answer on fault-funding to this level - I would think it should trigger the hf first but that’s only a slightly educated guess

I've not even had any input, test this try that etc ..sod it I won't bother again.

I know a bit about electronics but not enough to positively help I’m afraid - if it was me in your situation I’d be looking for any obviously burned components/board or bulging capacitors - these can be good indicators of things that are failing.

Then I got a broken inverter (a Fronius Transpocket).
I looked inside, checked some basics but was just too complex for me. I kind of know my limits...moved it on.

There's only a handful of active members (at the most) that can understand / fix them, so do not feel unloved...

Agree with this - my background is electronics and at one time I was hot s**t at component level fault finding. But switch mode power electronics is very specialised, and finding manufacturer information is sketchy to say the least.
So best of luck, but I'm no help really.

Primary board seems on left side of machine.
Have a look at the big cap.
You need to measure around 560V (400V AC here in germany).

Be very careful!!

Dont get in touch with charged caps.

Anyway:
Is there some fault code displayed on main panel?

Please try to make better pictures from primary pcb.

I have 590vdc across the capacitor
There are no error codes on the pannel of the machine.

Would the machine be looking for the HF start before the ramp up in amps on ac tig? There is no hf at the torch and regardless of the amps set when the trigger is pressed the display shows 4 amps?

Possible.
Some HF circuits are powered from a additional winding of primary transformer.
What happens in Stick Mode?

In stick mode the light flickers and there's a clicking sound within the machine but still no output it does say this in the repair manual

It's a transformer that's been added to power a aftermarket HF board that was fitted.
There are 2 power led's not illuminated but I think the leds are bad as there is power at the jumper pins
