I loved the pictures of cats in this thread. I'm really a dog person because dogs can follow instructions unlike cat that they sometimes makes their humans follow them lol! But, I find cats really cute!

One of our cats (the light coloured one) follows us round the house, likes to get chased and will fetch a small ball. It is a Tonkinese, not like a normal cat (if there is such a thing).

My Auntie has had a few Tonkinese over the years, very clever cats, like you say they will fetch a ball, she also trained them to sit, beg and roll over on command.

Always loved the "Cat" on Red Dwarf, the writers really understood how cats behave when they wrote that character, one of my favourite lines goes as follows...

Cat: You'd never get a cat to be a servant. You ever see a cat return a stick? "Hey, man! You threw the stick, you go get it yourself! I'm busy! If you wanted the stick so bad, why'd you throw it away in the first place?"

I used to have a cat whose favourite toy was a little red plastic funnel. He used to drop it at your feet, and tap your knee to get it thrown again.

Cats...wifey got two kittens about five years ago, just after our rescue mutt died. Would rather have another mutt.
The cats have chewed up/through a variety of electrical cables: aerial wires, CAT5, USB cables, laptop charger cables, etc.
Surprised they havent had a belt of the mains cables they've chewed.
Oh, then there's the carpets under doors.

Ex had rabbits that did that - they chew anything to keep wearing teeth down. Never had a cat do it - maybe feed 'em every now and again? ;-) Mine have biscuits out all the time, so they do wander in and have a snack, then wander out again.

They have some food available all the time, its just that they find PVC insulation so tasty.

New lodger was at vet today. We established he had no microchip, so todays visit was to add a new microchip, and remove his crown jewels.

Got him home, and have had over four hours of mayhem. Him rampaging about the house, and beating up my older cat. Only stopping to go outside and climb 8 foot garden fences, or eat, and eat, and eat.

Finally, he’s fell asleep. So much for “he might not eat much, and probably be wobbly with the ketamine for a while”.

My philosophy on cats, never let them get the chance to find out what the ornaments are for. Snip, snip, plop, plop.

My mog has gone awol and taken all the cat puppies with her, popped in for a feed a few months ago and went off again. I think she and her pups are in the woods culling the squirrel population, if and when she is hungry she will be back

I don't even like cats, never have. Moved into a new farm/cottage so wife says we will need one for vermin control. Ok I acquiesce, but shes a barn cat, stays outside, I have cat allergies so don't want her making me sneeze.

Cue me 2 weeks later standing in the pet shop with a packet of antihistamines perusing the radiator beds cos I can't have my wee cat outside in the cold. How do they seduce us so easily?
