Bet the cat prefers you to your missus, I have a friend who's allergic to cats, whenever he comes around both our cats make a beeline for him, his missus who loves cats they ignore.

Yup, this weird anomaly has happened with every cat I've ever met
I always end up with one getting comfy in my lap as my eyes start to get itchy and throat tightens....strangely enough after having this kitten for 3 months my allergies have almost disappeared....Well supposedly the way to reduce the effect of an allergy is low level exposure to acclimatise your body to it. I've suffered from Hayfever most of my life but a teaspoon of local honey every day has made it less of a problem, perhaps that's what the kitten is doing for you...

13 is a good age for a cat. It's a long time for her to be with you, but when her time comes it's the last kind thing you do for them

Its always tough when your pets have to go, we have 2 cats 12 and 13 years old. The 12 year old is on his last life after 2 strokes, we should have called him Lazarus.Had to put my cat down today, she was almost 13, she was so thin and wasting away, turned out it was cancer. Our old cat may not last this year especially if she keeps pulling stunts like last Friday. Made myself a big bacon butty and she took a huge dump in the litter tray just as I took the first bite. Being old she doesn’t bury it so that had to go down the khazi. Just about polished off the first half of my butty and she starts doing her howl from behind the settee that says she is going to blow chunks. Chase her out to the back door and she back tracks as there’s another cat outside. Finally she blows chunks on her way out the cat flap over my trainers! Butty now cold. She is about 19 and senile now, Social Services are no help.
The kitten is now into puberty, dropped that on us in the week by having a gentleman caller in to stay and is now full on tart howling for him to come in. Stopped that with a wee alloy plate.
To top it all off the big b&w lump threw up on our laminate bedroom floor in 5 places, even luckier my missus stepped in it!

No I wrapped her up and put her in the freezer. It was actually very hard to see her corpse again. This cat slept in our bed for 13 years and always wanted to sit in my lap as much as possible. We picked her up from a cat rescue as a kitten, she found me in that house actually and that's why we chose her.

My daughter's cat brought her a present last week - a fresh pork chop! She was horrified so she scolded the cat and put the chop in the bin. Half hour later the cat appears with another fresh pork chop!
I have to admit it makes me chuckle when I think it. Someone nearby must be totally mystified about where the hell their dinner could have got to.
