Thats the insides. It had threadlock and needed a bit of heating. The 3" sweedish pipe wrench had no issue turning the body with nut in vice. Tiny bearings in the black steel rings. Odd design but I know little of air tools. Shouldnt be too difficult to make it a brushless tool.
Anyone tried the radius inserts yet? Please?

I think @Brad93 is meaning the feed direction rather than the rotational direction.
If you feed so the inserts contact on the top of the material first then that is climb milling/cutting
If you feed so that the inserts contact the lower part first then that is conventional milling/cutting.
Climb will give a much better finish in a rigid setup but to my mind there is no way to keep this rigid so conventional will almost certainly be better.

Black arrows show direction you move the cutter
Red arrows show the direction of the force exerted onto your hand.
Climb will pull your hand along the direction you are moving and make it hard to control as you are feeding one direction but trying to hold it back the opposite direction.
Conventional will push against your hand making it easier to control the movement as it is opposite the direction you are moving and thus more balanced.

Unsure yet, simplest may be to remove the bearings and air vanes to extend the shaft, fit a new bearings and turn a new housing.
My die grinder has a removable spindle that is driven by slot in the motor, would be ideal if I didnt use it so often.
I have a spare brushless chainsaw motor which will be similar speed without its gearing.
