Does the unit itself (the Android base software) have a settings menu or configuration wizard? There could be something if you hunt around.

Try and look for units, settings, region, language, etc. Maybe there is something you can alter in there? For example finding a setup wizard and selecting English (US), mile/yards for units etc. Rough example:

There is one for temperature and one for fuel units.
Neither really work as Celcius is active no matter what you choose, that is fine for me though.
The fuel units originally had l/100km or km/l but it didn't matter if you chose the latter as it would just stay on the former. The Chinese wrote and update for me and when I loaded it had added an mpg option to the list but as before if you selected it nothing changed.

It sounds like they have added to the GUI but not changed the code that actually runs the box or that the box is still running the old software.
I have a few ideas but no real experience with Android and don't want to encourage you down a path to bricking the radio so will keep them to myself.
Other than is it possible to do a full clean install of the new software starting from just Android?

Could be stuck with the metric units then. Found this that mentions:

If you're in the UK, it only outputs data in metric which means that the info which appears on the matrix on the dash is in KM/h, and your cruise control/speed limiter goes out of whack and you have to do on the fly conversion. It also did not work with the speed limiter system in the first place, and will not remember your 'memo' speeds. Don't even try to get it to understand your TPMS.

Not that it's the same unit, but shows there are units out there that seem to be 'locked'. Doh!

Before I headed home this evening I had a look through all the android settings again but couldn't find anything related to units.
I then went back into the car control app and again went to the fuel units, I then pressed the mpg but nothing changed, pressed again and again and again and after about 10 times there was a blue dot in the mpg option and when I exited that menu it had mpg for fuel units. I looked at the dashboard and this is what greeted me.

On the way home I went into the fuel consumption page but it was still l/100km and k etc. I thought I would try zeroing one of the trips to see if it would change to miles but it didn't.

Hopefully it will still read miles on the dash tomorrow, if it does then I am delighted, would be nice to have the fuel consumption page in mpg and miles but I can live with that.

If you want the Citroen Dealer software there are plenty of clones of Lexia 3 for sale that include the obd leads. All you need is a laptop running windows 7 32bit or older.
I got mine on ebay & it was quite 'buggy' to install but it was only £30. There are better versions out there costing over £100 but are more reliable.

Mine has paid for itself many times over, helping me diagnose several airbag faults in my 306 plus sorting through faults in my dispatch van.

Well I am happy to report the dashboard still reads miles and mph.
The Fuel consumption and trip page in the radio however is still reading l/100km, kmph and km. I would have liked the latter to be in mpg etc but I can live with it as long as the van itself (on dash) keeps displaying miles
