I dont think the worm and gear has changed at all from a design POV from the very old ones to the newer ones. My old 6x4 is from the 70’s and the worm drive was worn out. I bought a scrap seally for next to nothing and just swapped the bow over and put all the better made monarc saw parts on it. The worm and gear drives were identical. It will probably be cheaper to buy a banger with a good drive and swap bits about. After fitting a new razor sharp Starret blade twenty minutes earlier the works machine has stripped the worm and gear
Not great timing as tomorrow (Wednesday) there's about 50 lengths of 50mm box coming and a lot of 80mm to make into things fairly quickly. Anybody know where to get the bits? I've sent a parts enquiry to Clarke as they'll probably be the same as this 1987 machine but otherwise I'm struggling. Any suggestions?
