We bought LED lamps for home to save on power consumption about 18months ago, the plan was it would save money . Before this Id bought the flourecent type for the same reason lower power usage but they all failed far to quickly, bought at the supermarket 3 or 5 year life time etc claimed. Id say an old incandecent lamp would have lasted 2/3 times longer.
Anyway the LED's are (not so cheap) super low consumption 9W, and have a huge life time, so much money will be saved even though they cost 5 or 6 times as much.
But NO, they are giving up the ghost now to, way before they should. I think they were rated at 50000 hours so 5 years ish continuous use. Im begining to think the incandecent lamp is the better option, I mean price wise I could have bought 5 or 6 for every one of the LED's. Seems like Ive been scammed/ guilted into buying the more power efficent lamps but I could have just spent that on the electricity. I wonder how much energy went into the manufacture of the crappy LED's. What do you guys think.
