Connecting pvc to cast iron soil stack

I think I would be tempted to tear the last bit out and go all plastic, it would look a lot tidier

I bought all the bits for that but getting all the parts to fit together with the solvent welds and push fit at the same time was not straightforward for me. So took the parts back to Toolstation today for a refund.

Oddly you don't see poo/wee tolerance listed on the charts for 3D printable plastics...

bit circled in red isn't serving any purpose? remove it too, the less joins you have the better


I'd dig a bit more soil away at the bottom and see about that pipe with the hole in


or if you're just going to leave it, seal it up right so no plant roots grow into it and block it up

Thought about that but it will serve as a rodding point where the old WC went in from the side. Otherwise any rodding would need to be done from the top.

As for the hole I plan to cover it with aluminium backed bitumen then concrete over the top.

in that case I'd swap that fitting for a one with the branch coming of at 45' (or whatever) instead of a 90'

it'll be murder getting rods around the 90' down and around the 90 underground - and with nothing coming down the removed pipe to the left to keep it clear, it'll stop the risk of anything coming down from above getting stuck on the ledge (not a big risk tbh, but might as well be sure while you're doing it)
