I'm sorry for another question, I'm learning and you have all been brilliant.

I have sorted the compressor and now want to look at the right hose. I know for spraying I need an 8mm-10mm hose ( I will need around 10m).

Still learning and the different fitting types, i.e PCL vs BSP etc, can I ask what type of quick connector is on my compressor from the photo?

I was planning on getting a hose with female 1/4 bsp at each end before buying the appropriate fittings for each end which I believe is a 'quick connector' for the gun end of the hose (with 1/4 male fitting for the gun) and another 1/4 male fitting for the compressor end of the hose.

So many different types for a simple piece of kit

Probably PCL, but it could be PCL-XF, also known as a Euro connector.

fit pcl conectors . u can use high flow ones as above post if u need a lot of cfm

Nearly all pipes are bsp THREADING. But bayonets there's loads of em.
Most common are machine mart ones.

Ie if you borrow/borrow out a tool it'll be a machine mart type.

just use the pcl ones then. they cover most air tools using a decent 10mm bore pipe, i use these on some of mine

Those compressor fittings are restrictive, on the picture you posted on your earlier post you had what looked like a 1/2 inch BSP plug on the end of the tank.
I’d take the supply from there and into a filter regulator, 10mm ID hose is the least you want, and hi flow euro fittings, get a good quality euro fitting, the cheap ones won’t last long. Make sure that the hose you buy doesn’t contain silicone, some of the cheaper coloured hoses do, not good for spraying.
The hi flow fittings are no more expensive than the old design, that looks like a euro fitting on your compressor.

you aren't kidding! about 3X's the price of normal PCL. but as has been said, great for lots of flow.

Saying that, looking a PCL XF on Screwfix they are alot cheaper than the PCL website. £17.50 vs £6.99!

Yes, XF is eXtra Flow. The best ones really. Covers all bases, greed air tools to the mini blow guns

I just removed the fitting and measured across (12mm) the thread so I think it's 1/4 inch?

Yes it will be, if you want to by-pass this and are planning on using an external regulator you could take air directly from the tank where the plug is on the end, they’re usually 1/2 inch Bsp threads

In my experience, there are two types of quick fit compressor fittings, one slightly larger than the other.

They are not interchangeable unless you make up a big to small, small to big fittings.

Those male push fit plugs, Lidl sell are bigger than our workshop airline fittings, just to let you know, if I have time tomorrow I'll get some photos at work.
