I'm surprised nobody has picked up on this yet but you always fit the female part of the qrc to the pressurised side of air pipework. They have a non return valve to stop the air coming out when you disconnect your tools. That fitting you removed from the compressor is a female coupling, so replace it with a similar fitting.

Any extension hoses should have a male & a fem on each end.

It works out cheaper too, you only need 1 expensive fem on your hose & the cheaper male fittings on all your tools.

You can get the pcl XF type fittings in Lidl, they call them Euro fittings but I would avoid them. The couplings are made from cheese & the females fail after a short time.

So same fem qrc on hose for tool as the fem on the actual compressor?

He means that you only need the female coupling on the outlet of the regulator and the outlet of the hose, the male couplings are on the tools and the inlet of the hose, I didn’t see anyone suggesting otherwise.
