If air leaves the tank through this 1/4, does the bigger bore hose and hi-flow XF still achieve anything?, just thinking overall out of 1/4 at the tank, 1/4 into spray gun

Saying that, looking a PCL XF on Screwfix they are alot cheaper than the PCL website. £17.50 vs £6.99!

Yes screwfix have great prices on these

If you have to buy em go for the XF ones and be done with jt. When I upgraded my compressor I had to change all fittings for new to be XF.

And if you shop around online you can get great prices on genuine PCL XF 5 and 10m hoses etc all made up ready to go.

In my experience, there are two types of quick fit compressor fittings, one slightly larger than the other.

They are not interchangeable unless you make up a big to small, small to big fittings.

Those male push fit plugs, Lidl sell are bigger than our workshop airline fittings, just to let you know, if I have time tomorrow I'll get some photos at work.

Yes you get euro fittings, and you get the old school BSP fittings, the Euro has a much larger bore, what confuses people I think is that the Euro fittings have a BSP thread.

This way I can locate my remote water trap away from compressor so it is most effective.

And I also bought a 10m PCL XF
hose from them

I have my £10 amazon water trap (fine IMO) on a thick steel plate so I can set it anywhere and it does catch alot of water!



Too close to compressor and the hot moist air will be harder to separate.

I did also take the centre bung from the end of my tank and take the hose from there when using this remote reg and water trap. This way there is only one place you need to adjust the pressure at.

Exactly. Buy more than you need. Then when you run out you can go back for more! Seriously buy 2 or 3 spare and you'll quickly need em.

It's like 3ph plugs and sockets, choose a system that suits you and stick to it, air lines too.

I think that's the same thing except with no pressure regulator which you would want
