I dropped a big segmented box of stainless self tappers yesterday that have all got mixed up. The box has also broken so I intend putting each type into a small ziplock bag and then the bags into a tub of some sort.

Same here - I've got four of those, mainly for my stock of nuts/bolts/washers. It's great being able to find the fixing you want dead easily! Surprisingly good quality, too. Still got quite a few empty drawers left to fill

Seemed flimsy/tinny but most of the drawers are nearly full and it's OK, just worried if the shelf it's on can take the weight!

I like Raaco handy cases. They have a plastic chassis/frame which locks together with the ones beside and above so they stack well or can be built into a wall unit using the screw holes in the back, then they hold 4 self contained cases with lids and interchangeable box insets you can either remove to get larger items in or mess about with the layout to get whatever you like in. Great thing is you can take them out individually so you only carry what you need to the job or grab the whole box. They aren't super cheap but for sparkies and other trades they are brilliant.

Maplin used to sell yellow sets that looked like that and they often had them on offer. I just looked and they are now selling Raaco at 44 quid. Some people on ebay want 70 quid on ebay are they just stupid or what? ?? (Maplin are not usually cheap either.)

I have a feeling my local plastic box place can get them a little cheaper. Its a good way to rack out a wall though, 4 of those is a lot of fiddly parts stored neatly.
The plastic holds up really well, not brittle or too soft either. I've had mine ten years plus and only recently broke one of the catches that hold the lids down when I let one fall on the floor recently.

They're all steel. I've got them pretty heavily loaded and they stand up well. Some of the cheaper drawers I've tried start to jam when you load them up, but these don't seem to. Simple, but work well for me.

Storage solutions are all good but it really depends on how readily you want to access the items stored therin. If say you use lots of fixings etc then priority will be ready access and probably expensive, however if your like me and use little bits n bobs once in a while then I use zip loc bags, old biscuit tins and some small plastic crates. I've most got all the stuff in on one shelf in the workshop and don't mind spending five minutes to have a rummage around.

Also worth noting that any open type system will accumulate dust and debris from anything you do
