my advice fit a conopy and channel it over to the fanGetting there.
Existing extractor fan is 6" and 25w. About 1.2 from the cooker.
Plan A try a more powerful extractor and see how that goes.
Chance to spend hours looking spec's at B+Q and Skrewfix etc

Ok if you are going down the road of a wall/extractor fan, there will be as many here that may disagree with what I'm saying.Getting there.

I beg to differ, mine takes all of the steam away when boiling pasta/vegies ect, with it off the ceiling/walls will dripjust get a sim one and vent through the wall there there to get rid of stinks not dehumidify
a decent extractor will push all you need to get rid of through that 6 inch hole. mine pushes the steam and grease out of my 6" hole and cakes the top of the bamboo in it for 10 meteres! The one fitted is a 6'' jobbie. Basic twenty quid thing. No idea how much air it shifts but barely tickles the vents on the outside
its hard wired into the wall and on a pull switch. see photo without the guard on
I think pull switch so I can use it as a ventilator in the summer, very little natural airflow in my bottom yard
I dont fancy opening the wall up anymore, on this house that sort of thing can cause catastrophes. I'll try this first
I've seen a few about the £40 to £60 range that shift 240 cubic m per hour.

dam right air needs replacing. I fitted a intake in the open plan living room so that in incoming air has to go past the log burner for that very reasonlooks more like a 4 extractor fan which is ample enough to use
however not much good if not used with a cooker hood over the hob
otherwise known as a smell extractor and thats it
as goes for 6" hole fan you also have to remember what you suck out of the room has to be replaced by somewhere else so the longer its on your pulling from other rooms within the house to feed the extraction in the first place
and not forgetting they can also back flow so at the highest point they can go in reverse letting your heated air go out while replacing with loverly cold air coming back in from the outside back into the room
