I'd really try and avoid having any thermal interfaces in the heat-sink material if you can - we did the same thing in our prototype simply because we decided to build in some adjustability so we didn't have to keep respinning the mechanics. We were struggling to get rid of the heat with just one thermal interface (basically a block sat inside a square hole) even with the best paste we could get.
When we did the final machining and the whole thing was out of a single block of ali we got a roughly 10 fold improvement in thermal performance by having no interfaces.
Currently there is an aluminium one fitted fitted, Iv gotta try for the sake of trying a copper oneI did some experiments measuring the rate of temperature rise of heat sinks with a 50ohm power resistor as a means of measuring RF power. Even if you look at the numbers in a book, you still get a surprise to see how much better copper transfers heat compared with aluminium!
Convection is a massive issue with what we are trying to coolAlso, remember that at the sort of temperature most electronic heat sinks work at, the main means of heat transfer to the air is convection, not radiation.

I can’t share the full details but it’s a camera and bolts to x5 M3 CSK screwsIt's not what you've got it's what you do with it......a microfin composite heatsink may well perform much better than you already have. Also the most important factor is the interface to the heatsink.
