Got my 2 drill chucks and the 4MT-6JT arbour today, Exactly the same chucks as Cromwell, just cheaper

Mine arrived today as well, I have to say they do look pretty decent for not much money! It’s got to better than the notchy keyed one that’s currently fitted, thanks for the tip off (unless my wife finds out I’ve been buying more stuff, in which case I’m denying all knowledge...)

I just ordered the chuck plus a rubber mallet and a carbide milling insert to make it up to above the £20 for free postage.

I'm feeling all chuck-less now. The only machine I have that might need one is the pillar drill, but haven't got a scooby what fitting is on that.
I think I might throw caution to the winds and get a Zoro £11 1-16mm chuck, just in case, like.

I ordered some drills as well, they arrived today, cardboard box was intact and no damage but sadly two of the drill cases were broken, also one had a missing drill. There was no sign of the drill in the box and no way for it to have ecaped as it was well taped up, also none f the missing plastic in the box. Have emailed Cromwell so will see what they say, bit annoying as I ws going to give them to friends as gifts

I ordered a 2nd cut 6" file from Zoro. £2.34 in the sale, they sent it 24 hr signed!

The packaging leaves a little to be desired though, A4 sized plastic bag and I only had to work my hand under the flap to get the file and paperwork out!

My drills arrived in damaged tubes too but as I was keeping them and at the price I got them for, I’m not too fussed. A little annoying though.

I ordered a 6ft spirit level from them last week. Came in absolutely no packaging - shipping label stuck onto the factory cellophane - with a predictable number of dings in the milled ally faces. I do wonder what some people must be thinking...

Problem is many have nothing and we want to pay nothing etc etc etc
It's a never ending circle. I don't know the answer......I buy from China. I buy from Cromwell on their cheap deals but find their prices expensive otherwise and not local enough to drive and grab stuff quickly.
Again I don't have the solution.

What I do know is that even on Amazon it's impossible to know what quality you are getting. And how soon you will get it.

I forwarded your email last night onto the warehouse for them to double check the shelf, and and can confirm any more damaged ones have been removed.
I shall just raised 2 x replacement drill sets for you, and these will be with you Monday.

Would be worth Cromwell offering the Drill bits from the Damaged Cylinders at a reduced price, Save having a load of em left on the shelf without a home !!
