plus its possibly one of the most user un friendly marketplaces ever. My account seems to have gone. repeated attempts at recovering my password " an email has been sent" but never recieved! The local depot has been closed which is a pain.

Anybody else get the impression that Cromwell are totally taking the pee? Advertise ridiculously large savings and then refuse to honour some sales?
Pretty cynical IMO, and definitely on my "don't buy from" list.

Sorry for the confusion but the refusal was from Lawson not cromwell

I think all the refunds have been from Lawson HIS and not Cromwell.
It is not really surprising that Lawson are refunding as it was obviously a massive cockup, even the cheapest of spanner sets are not going to be £2 for 6mm to 32mm.

Ah - fair enough. If it had been the same supplier then I'd be smelling a fish-shaped rat, but I can see the Lawson situation was probably a mistake.

£80 odd for a set of sockets even if it were to include a 32mm is still silly.

its a figure of speech, armoured cable is £1000 a drum but you get 80 percent discount of it

You sure? Have you actually checked the tracking number?
They sent me a 24 hour tracking number almost instantly but its not showing on parcel force tracking.

Unless of course your parcel is small enough to be delivered via royal mail as we had postie just walk past....lol

I think they might have tried in on after getting fleeced last time.
The idea of showing massive discounts is not new but relies on quick advertising before it gets reported. Perhaps a clever marketing dude though let social media advertise for them.
It will be interesting to know when their regular prices are altered to normal ones.

No refund. But no items despite being given a 24 hour delivery tracking number........that does not actually show on the parcel force app.

Not that I expected anything till Monday (at best) to be honest.

Find me a set of 14 sockets up to 32mm from a half decent brand that cost less? It's right on the pricepoint, IMO.

You're right about Cromwell's terrible website, though. I think they'll go bust at some point in the next two years, their business model is totally unsustainable. Closing down all of the town branches, leaving internet sales that no-one wants to use, and bulk prices for gear that doesn't quite compete with B&H for the big sales... nahhh thanks

Cromwells pricing has always been higher, that's why Zoro exists tbh.
In both cases discounts are available for trade users.

If you compare the Cromwell deal pricing to what the items are available at normally, either elsewhere or from Zoro, you will see that they are discounted but not by vast amounts.
Therefore, I have no doubt that Cromwell will honour those prices, and both my orders are now marked as out for delivery with parcelfarce tracking numbers.

However, I also received an email from Richard Brown @ HIS notifying me my Lawson order was cancelled. I missed out on the spanners but they had a pick and scraper kit down from £38 to £3.
I did doubt they would go through at that price, and yes they cancel the entire order including any other items as they don't actually take the payment in the first place. Still, worth a punt as you never know.
