Are you saying a keen young lad with a picking hammer is a thing of the past?...not in my world and definitely not in the world around me Gaz. Also saves cleaning 3 houses either side of the job every day from dust too not using power toolsif those young people are anything like me
boredom will really set in and to be honest the money isnt there for it either
and the customers dont want to pay for it either
Your looking in the wrong shops for your goods...find a kid with no ambition and money for tasks like thisThey aren't stupid enough around here. I tried steering a neighbours son into joining the fun and he rightfully said that I was just making beer money and trying different pursuits for sport. He is now studiously pursuing a none vocational course to work towards heavy vehicle maintenance, he made the right choice.
They really are thin on the ground hereabouts or I would. The population density is 22 persons per square mile for an 8 mile radius and a lot of those are either wealthy retirees from Nantes or Paris and the rest are arthritic local crocks. I would have to cast my net further and that means the big town, all 35,000 of them and its 15km away so it needs to be worth their while. Like Britain there is not quite enough incentive for the young to find some work when the state helps them out.Your looking in the wrong shops for your goods...find a kid with no ambition and money for tasks like this
Never seen the likes of that, would love to have a tinker with that just to see. I tried an air scale gun a while ago and I reckon it would be nigh on perfect for good hard stone, basalts and so on but I can carve the native stone meaningfully with a Swiss army knife. My attempts peppered the outside of the joints with punch marks.there is drill needle scallers
Sorry, looking at your location i thought you were in the middle of Manchester or surrounding areasThey really are thin on the ground hereabouts or I would. The only other solution is to employ someone full time which means I have to work full time to do the fiddly bits and the fine finish and keep tabs on the help but I am doing my utmost to avoid full time work and failing at that as is. I did one job as a favour for someone I barely know about 7 years ago and since then work has found me whether I wanted it or not. I even hiked my day rate to the top of what people expect to pay and they just paid anyway. I would completely retire, again, but I do enjoy the work, just not full time.
