i have the slightly bigger clarke and to be honest its a beast! 3 pullys give something like 60 speeds easy to change too. the only down side is its heavy as sin, block and tackle job to get it up on the table but a really really good drill and i only paid £45 for it like new with a work vice too
i think for the money the clarke ones are great

Different terms for same thing. They tend to use the phrase drill press more across the pond, I think.
