esp32 relay board thats new to me! is it running an arduino bootloader?
Flashed with ESPHome so it connects to my HomeAssistant install.

and then when it goes wrong someone gets asked to fix it the reply go do one
that looks like my new (to me) welding positioner
Why not have a switch like normal people?Flashed with ESPHome so it connects to my HomeAssistant install.

This was my prototype.
People say "dangerous liability" like it's a bad thing, and I find that deeply hurtful.
Chinese by any chance? You want bad?
Found this today on an 18month old platform, that is not long back from spending a good few months back at the manufacturer due to various issues-

That's the earth wire for what is deemed a safety critical piece of equipment fitted to the platform.
I'll email it to our internal tech support tomorrow, and see how quickly the doodoo hits the fan
is that relay outputs only or can you wire in sensors etc. too?
first I had to work out how it had been wired
No.Chinese by any chance?
Do you always at pins to the end of the wires.
Do you always at pins to the end of the wires.
And do you always put two or 3 wires into one pin.
And finally where do you get numbers from that fit the wires...lo
They are designed for one tri rated cable only, unless its a double one which is designed for two cables. but you should never put three in.Do you always at pins to the end of the wires.

It has a row of header pins that give (I think, without looking):
Analogue input
3x GPIO [1]
RX + TX for a serial connection. Ostensibly for programming, but can be used as i2c?spi? or even two extra GPIO.
Plus a 5v?(might be 3.3v), and a ground.
It's quite a good board, tbh.
I also have another that doesn't have a controller onboard. That will be daughter-boarded to the above via a MCP23017 mutiplexer. (16 way)
That will give me another 8x relays, plus 8x GPIOs if needed.
[1] the pins are used for setting programming mode, so you have to be careful what state they are in when the board boots up. Not so good for switches, unless you use momentary ones)
oh... any link or model numbers?
I have a bunch of esp8266 running 1 wire temp sensors in my freezers feeding back to home assistant
I have a machine with a dead PLC in it I'm going to swap to esp too, have been looking at boards but haven't decided on which one yet... yours looks perfect :-)
If you haven't seen them before Audon Electronics do some good stuff at reasonable prices, we used their Cubloc touch screen HMI's with built in PLC' at one place I worked.
