Suzuki Bandit oil pumps have a pressure relief valve integral to the housing and they are only £10-25 on eBay. A small bit of fabrication and a motor mounted would give you a decent high-pressure pump.

Ive messed with oil pumps before and was not getting the correct pressure due to the water being less viscous than the oil.

I could have another look into it and see what I can come up with.

Hot 0W fully synth engine oil is very runny.

Unless the pump (bike) is in very good (read perfect) condition. I doubt it would make pressure.

If I need to build another I would look a at beer pumps?

Good point. Think the one I tried before was from a Corsa speced for 10w-40. Another thing is how reliable would it be as they are obviously self lubricated and running water through them it would more than likely wear pretty fast.

They are geo-rotor pumps not sliding-vane, should last a fair long while. Use antifreeze, water wetter or evans coolant instead of water.

I've looked at beer pumps on the bay but they never have pressure or flow specs.

Beer pumps are centrifugal I think. Dunno what pressure they do but I bet it's less than mains.

What about a small hydraulic motor? Put an electric motor on the shaft and it would pump with a fair bit of pressure, they can be had on eBay fairly cheap.

Same thing as an oil pump, just that the energy is transferred in the opposite direction.

There are lots of options regarding pumps and I've tried a good percentage of them as I've made afew of these and in progress of one at the moment.
Shower booster pumps work really well but they do require a gravity feed. You can pretty much get any pressure you want from them and some are adjustable.
Caravan camping pumps are good and usually 40-100psi the issue with them is they are only priced sensible at 12volt a 240 volt one costs ££££
I have not heard of too many success story's with CH pumps so this guy has done well to get it to work as I don't think they produce any more than 8-10psi. A drinks dispenser motor and procon style pump for me is the optimum root if you want to keep it all nice and compact as you don't need the tank sitting above it but as said they won't last run dry so it's important to ensure it's flooded and water gets straight to it. If your using a 4 mtr torch and not hammering the life out of it then a 30psi 4lpm pump of any description will be perfect. 8 mtr torch or much harder use 40-50psi is better. These are my experiences with cooler making. The one made by the op 2 years ago is an outstanding job.
