DRO advice?

Well, before DRO's arrived, people machined pretty well using stops and suchlike devices.
You can still machine using the older mechanical systems, and they don't go 'phutt' or tell lies.
Utterly mature technology....

Many of the older machines are imperial and even if you have a metric machine these devices are as cheap as chips.

With very cheap chips in them as well , no doubt.....

So cheap, it is affordable to change the whole DRO after a few years IF it stops working.

One error could wipe out any benefit of using the systems.
Stops don't go wrong quite as spectacularly.
High quality DROs are one thing, but cheap ones are very likely another...
