Ear wax removal.

Apart from don't do it and without going political why it's no longer done by GP's /Nurses has anyone got any advice on what works.
Seems like a multitude of things exist on amazon and ebay but you just can't trust the reviews . Especially as some are polar opposite and some come from people with strange names like hippo or stingray.. lol

nhs too greedy to do it. you can pay 50 quid and get it done privately bruv had his done. i had one of mine done nhs but that was 20 years ago

I use Otex, both the olive oil and the hydrogen peroxide. You pay over the odds for the oil but it's in a small bottle and has a dropper to get in down the canal tidily. The oil softens the wax and the peroxide deals with the dried on stuff, with an odd crackling noise.

And I can have my ears syringed up here FOC by the NHS, so ner.

I paid to get mine done , after clearing them she said just put a couple of drops of olive oil in once a month .

NHS gp surgery took a couple of candles out of mine 2-3 years ago, but it looks like it is off the menu now.
Check out local pharmacies, reputable audiologist etc that will do it.
Don't bother with the mumbo jumbo remedies - light blockage, warm olive oil works

Local place wanted £80 so I bought a syringe kit off eBay for £7 and did it myself. Disgusting brown lumps came out and I can hear again.

My old Grandad has a foolproof method of removing earwax.
Two house brick either side of your nuts and bang them together.
The wax flies out of both ears immediately.

mrs sent off for a syringe off ebay, has a nozzle on the end that directs the water

soak a bit of olive for several days...will depend how bad it is, then have a helper blast the ear , takes a few tries but shifted a big lump

Hydrogen peroxide works (I use it when I feel like I’m coming down with a heavy cold, the wax removal is just a bonus really).

I ended up with a completely blocked ear with wax after I swelled the wax with olive oil . Doctor friend recommended sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). Got small bottle from boots of ready made up bicarb. It took a few weeks of occasionally dripping a bit in but eventually it completely cleared out the wax.
Slow but it "does" work.
Done both ears now from completely blocked.
Better than £80 and a big waiting list.

Same here, bought a rubber bottle thing off ebay, pump warm soapy water into ear repeatedly and eventually nasty stuff comes out. A big syringe worked, but this thing holds more water.

I used to use them spongy ear plugs all the time a few years ago and needed regular sluicing, but now I use. different type and they don't seem to cause as much muck.

Olive oil now and then, but personally I'd steer clear of peroxide, and do not put anything in your ear smaller than your elbow! This was the advice from the consultant that has operated twice on my wife's ears.
