You can use supermarket olive oil. Use in moderation - see video Never ear buds, and syringing should be a no no - that's what the surgeon told the missus.

Specsavers do the syringing now apparently, no idea of the cost though.

65 quid. I need my right one done every 3 months.

I use Otex, both the olive oil and the hydrogen peroxide. You pay over the odds for the oil but it's in a small bottle and has a dropper to get in down the canal tidily. The oil softens the wax and the peroxide deals with the dried on stuff, with an odd crackling noise.

And I can have my ears syringed up here FOC by the NHS, so ner.

Pretty sure the warnings say don't use this sort of thing if you have tinitus

I know someone else who ended up with a perforated ear drum when her normal nhs doctor syringed her ear wax so even the professionals get it wrong sometimes

Think Specsavers do suction removal rather than syringing, don't have any bad stories about that, lol. My dad had this done a couple of times

Was recommended a few yeas back by a practice nurse. Much better than liquid oil, and less messy, I am told.
