They were offering then with the control computer programmed for the specific motor.
I believe the performance offered an additional 4% in power economy and improved performance.

I predicted a denial, strange you didn’t screenshot gridwatch like usual but here it is from last night…
Still similar this morning.
Amazes me that 25% of our power right now is from wind and it’s almost completely still outside my house, magic!

A guy I know works for a special effects company (film) and they put a 500 hp tesla motor in an early Fiat 500 ,utterly mental.

Wind can even reach 50% of our power. But what do you do when the wind isn't working? Burn loads of gas at very high prices

again, you are ignoring the fact that the alternative is to burn gas all the time.That is one day!

How figures for the overall spend on gas? The high prices paid when calm being balanced by not buying gas when it's windy?
Still, we can tear them all down next week as fusion is sorted now.
But we ARE burning gas most of the time!

Of course we are, but for 28% of the time annually we are using wind. I’m really not sure what is hard to comprehend that without wind we would be using 28% more gas annually?
We had the solution back in the 1950s but it has been ignored for far too long.
France saw the light back in the 1970s after the oil crisis and went all nuclear. For many many years they had abundant cheap electricity with extremely low carbon emissions. Then one of their recent governments decided they wanted renewables and started neglecting nuclear - now they are very much regretting it.
The amount we are spending to justify the renewables is insane.
We wouldn't be having this argument if our electric was nice and cheap!
For too long we have relied on a fossil fuel to fill the gap.

Replacing a base load with an intermittent one was never going be a good idea.

we have no current alternative, and wind is cheap but again you are missing the point that the energy market is the issue, not wind per se.
We are paying a lot because all energy sources get the same price as the most expensive - gas. I can’t really believe I’m still saying this as you seem seem quite fixated on blaming something.
Wind hasn’t replaced anything as a base load, it is used whenever it is windy as it’s the cheapest source of energy.

Please find attached energy sources over the past year. It’s rare that RE drops below nuclear.
Note this doesn’t include RE imports via the interconnects.
Wind has all but completely off-set coal. It’s been a successful demonstration. Now we can proceed to replace gas.

What will you replace the gas with? More wind? So when the wind doesn't blow for 2 weeks we huddle in front of candles?
It is totally wrong to link the price to gas - they did that because gas USED to be cheap.
The problem remains that wind is unreliable. We need electric all the time not just when it's windy. Several gas powerstations went bust recently because they don't get paid muchwhen the wind is blowing but are then expected to step up when needed. Wind farms are still paid no matter what.
@fizzy the price has to be linked because the two sources are used together, therefore they are inextricably linked. Electricity is electricity, no one using it cares where it came from, unless as a business user you pledge to be “green”, then you buy electricity that comes with REGOs, which prove it was from a renewable source.
Suppliers buy the electricity from the cheapest or green source, or both. They buy in bulk to get better deals, which usually means gas, but could be wind.
If you found a way to move pallets across the country, say using a tardis - should tardis be capitals?, would you then provide your service at cost plus your usual fee, or would you price the service “just below” market price, thus ensuring you get as much custom as you could handle, and make as much profit as possible?
