Once thé cardboard boxes are open i cling film them after use, in winter all rods live on thé radiator in thé office.

They absorb humidity liké i drink beer.

Well 1m above +/- 10cm depending on how far it slides down the hood

Temperature - irrelevant because it takes several weeks to change temperature

Nah plates and food goes in there. I use that more than the welding rods at the moment

I use plastic storage tubes a bit like @premmington but mine are ex MOD mortar cases (I think). They are big enough to get a box of rods in and totally waterproof. I bought them years ago. I did look for more the other week and there were some on the bay.

I do tend to buy the Esab packs that have enough for a shift in recently. Works well

I got a Nato 120mm plastic mortar storage tube (real nice black plastic thing). Proper made thing - difficult to get.

Older Nato green (double) ones were 81/82mm - I don't think the UK armed forces adopted the the 120mm mortar?

I think the UK army carried on with LLR 81mm (3") mortars to this date.

Not sure - someone here will know?

My 6013s spend their life in our boiler cupboard which keeps them dry and nominally warm. I just grab a handful when I have a job to do and bring back what I don't use.
