I think I prefer it slightly more than the normal Esab 5356 I use but not much in it, Esab needs about 0.2v more on the voltage trim offset than this.

Nope, never heard of it, certainly not anything I have seen locally.

Not a brand I know of over here, although the name is familiar. There’s Saf, which was something to do with Oerlikon.

From what I have been told this is the top of the range available and made in Italy. It is the preferred choice here, cost is the only problem. There are others!

Yes looking like it will be perfect. The real test will be shortly when the new Cat arrives from Cheetah, will be a fair bit of different welds on that.

Not done a massive amount of welding with the torch yet as the new Cat that was supposed to be here mid December is still not here.
I have used it on smaller jobs and I do like it a lot but it will be even better after a good bit of use as the lead, being new, is quite unforgiving. Once it gets used for a bit the outer cover will start to soften and make things nicer.
One bonus which I found was when a reel of wire is finished the motor in the torch has enough power to continue to pull the wire through after the end has left the wire feed rollers in the welders wire feed. It is not really feeding properly and the arc lengthens a bit but it does mean the wire doesn't fuse into the contact tip as happened with the Binzel, so that is excellent from my point of view

I have been using the torch quite a bit over the last few weeks now that the newest Cat has arrived. I should have bought the 45 degree neck instead of the 36 but have since fitted the Binzel one from my other push pull and it is much better with the 45. The original neck has a taper seat on it and to adjust the angle you have to slacken the hand nut a bit and pull on the neck to dislodge from the taper, not a real hardship. The binzel however doesn't have the tapered end on it so I was a bit worried that it wouldn't seal properly but it seems fine and it also means that you do not have to slacken the nut to turn it which is better.

I usually have the pistol grip fitted but last week when doing overhead welding on the table frame I found it easier with the grip removed, likewise today when doing the rear section of the table it was easier with it removed. Really happy with that feature as it only takes 30 seconds to remove or replace the pistol grip.

Succumbed and bought an EWM 45 degree neck for the push pull, it arrived today thanks to @andymdavey82 .

So thought I better test it out by making a drill stand and it was much easier to use than the 36 degree I had ordered initially with the torch.
