Thought i would stick this here as its where the lathe write up is that i got.
Well as the stand that i got the lathe on was a bit naff i wanted a cabinet for it so as i had some 4mm plates from work i used them and a bit of angle i had and made one for it.
I will be making a draw or two for the right end opening, just for tooling etc.
As soon as i suss out how to lower it down on the legs i will do, all i have is a trolley jack so looks like ill use that.
I was going to paint it but dont think ill bother now.
End face plate and gear storage
As you can see i have used a lump of round timber for the belt adjuster, chicken n egg situation as i want to make ad adjuster for the belts on the lathe so that will do for now.
And to finish it off i have some 6mm stainless steel to make a tray for it this week. tray, well depends on the company across the road and how much they charge to laser it to shape for us to bend it. If its to much then it will be 4mm steel instead.
Think i will have ago and play with it tomorrow once i suss out the programming for the VFD as i have just been running it at 50hz to try it out.
