Lots of good work there, It would be great to see how you formed some of the panels.

I know the yellow things you are using are to hold panels together ready for welding, but what are they called and who makes that particular type? They look like they work on the same principle as a Rawlbolt - a wedge shaped centre piece pulls up into a split tubular outer which expands and holds everything tightly together.

There called skin pins and come in a number of sizes from 3/32 to 1/4

cleco's do the same job but you will need a set of cleco pliers to use them

The filler work and primer should be done by the end of the week so she should be in her final Midnight Blue over coat by next week.

I'm not a fan of the Mk2 myself preferring the older Mk1, but that is a work of art!
Some serious work gone into that.
People rip the Land Rovers to bits for rusting in the same old places, but sure enough, that shell is rusted in all the same places that the Anglia's and Cortina's I had.

quite simply you cant.

As with all the resto's i do this job was allocated a number of hours per week to suit the owners budget and week by week was rebuilt to what you see now.

Well, after a long wait for a slot in the bodyshop things are finally moving along now. Went to see how the old girl is getting on today and I am very pleased with the results so far. The shell should be ready for collection mid next week and then the fun part of putting it back together.

Looking very nice. I always thought MK2 Escorts looked good in midnight blue my 1600 Sport was a pale powder blue, but then I was never too keen on the RS2000's nose much preferring the flat front Escorts.

Mate, that is some seriously impressive work, you have a real talent!
One thing i`m jealous of with you guys is the availability of repair panels, we have a very limited range available down here and they cost an arm and a leg for even the most common ones. I`m followint you on FB as well and have nothing but admiration for the standard of your work
