Thank you all so much and I shall use a dpc between block and timer , also I shall use water repellent on outside of block and use liquid dpm on the inside . This shall be done maybe in summer now as weather and blocks are soaked ..

If your cladding with timber, after damp proofing take the timber down the outside of the block work, will look much better

Yes I did plan on doing this but not all the way down maybe just short of the last block ?

If its wet put in ground drains, the pipe with holes in surrounded by gravel, run water away to a drain or somewhere.

Heaters in sheds on thermostats can be an expensive option espescially if you burn the place down. Id look at greenhouse heaters, or whats used to be called a black heater, like a finned casting, or airing cupboard heater

am I right in thinking of old style paraffin heaters that are used in greenhouse?

Drainage wont be as simple as french drains or soak aways for me, the area has a high water table

Thats what I have, turned right down, with the insulation keeps the place above 0C and turns on and off as needed, doesn't seem to be hammering the electric either...

Been running solid since October.

Extractor fan also helps...keeps the air moving around.

You want electric heat, parafin and gas when they burn they produce carbon monoxide and water
