Hi guys good news on the gas front. and a new supplier maybe.

I spoke to my local HSS Hire shop.

And said id brought a second hand bottle and was told you

could swap for a full bottle and they said yes we can .

With HSS you dont need an account with boc and you dont even need and

empty.but as i had my empty size Y it cost me £57.19 including vat

And that was for argoshield light.

A new company has been set up in Weston-Super-Mare supplying co2/Argon ,
Oxygen , Pure Argon etc. With no rental fees.
They are offering free local deliveries and are planning weekly deliveries throughout the Southwest. Bottles are 9L and are supplied for a deposit of £55.00 plus the cost of the gas. Co2/Argon is £33.00 +vat.

I recently exchanged my CO2 bottle here (14Lb) for £15. They will also refill your own bottle as well as sell you a new bottle (about £80) or sell you an old stock pub type filled for about £25. They are very helpful people. I spoke to a guy called Dave.

Hi,

I e-mailed Air Liquide about the Albee cylinders and came back very quickly and said the new cylinders are being trialed at one depot and there is no date for roll out through the country. But they are taking details for potential customers, from the comments DIYer's wont be turned away.

Hi Chaps,
Further to our fleet of 10 litre bottles there are now 20 litre bottles availible in all mixes Argon/CO2 (see previous post No 37 on this thread) for the welder who likes to have a larger bottle strapped to the back of their MiG/TiG.

As regards to price- the cylinders are double the size of the ten litre ones so are double the price(10 year right to use and contents) see our previous post (no37) regarding prices on 10 litre cylinders on this thread.

Supply both ArgoShield and CO2 in I think size X.
They don't advertise the gas supply on there website, so I'm not sure if it's all stores. The price was around £50 for the cylinder and refills on top, but that is from memory. They guy who runs the Coventry branch is fantastic, really helpful and knowledgeable. Oh, i haven't actually had a bottle off them yet, but i do shop there far too much!

Hi Members

Hopefully I can be of help to any Welders in the Central belt of Scotland.

I was directed to this site by a local chap who called up wanting an old CO2 extinguisher to practice his welding skills with.

I own a fire protection company and have literally hundreds of the things in stock. As you may well know they get changed out every 10 years when due stretch test & before we send them away we need to empty them all.
Rather than simply fire them off and add to the greenhouse affect I will gladly supply them on a use & return basis to anyone in the area for a nominal fee.

I can also fill own (no BOC etc please) bottles so long as they have a pub style screw valve & are within date (10years since last stamp going by year only not month)
