I love the way he has to reach across a thousand or so foot of nothing to hook on his harness.

I got a chance to go up the Kodak factory chimney in Harrow when they were about to demolish the factory, I cant remember how high it is but it was swaying a few inches at the top!
The hand rail is at knee height as you climb out of the hatch as the roof slopes down to the edges

Me neither but the strange thing is that when I used to fly gliders I had no problems with height but to stand on a roof at ,say, 50 ft and I get the cringing willy syndrome. I came to the conclusion that it was the connection to the ground via the vertical wall that did for me. Much more aware of height than in a plane.

Long way down if a change in underwear is required.

If you were to fall you would probably have time to change your underwear on the way if you were nippy.

Repaired the green picker using the one I'm standing in (the photo taken from) , then got out and walked along the beam to climb into the basket of the repaired picker. Fully function test it after the repair, then back into the original picker to return to the then top floor. ....

The red square is where the picker was sat on top of the services shaft.

Many years back I worked for a firm that put some three storey battery hen sheds up near toaster
Buildings were clad using a mobile crane and a home made two man basket that swung off the hook.
The chap I worked with was considerably larger than me so I had to fill my side of the basket with bricks to balance it out..
I pooped myself when we got to the apex of the biulding and fatty stuck his leg out kicked the biulding and the basket started spinning..
Not a good day but great to look back on..

Ive jumped out of many planes……..but that reach gave me a twitch!

Strange what makes you twitch hate ladders and rock climbing, went to Windsor castle years ago went up the steel staircase ok peered over the edge of the building , came down the stairs about 15 steps landing 15, landing and so on, made the first landing then every step on my bum holding the railings never felt like that on a mast

I have a fear of depths, not heights - had no problem climbing a lattice tower, but couldn't stand over the 6 foot deep cable pits...
