My Garelli Tiger cross niftyfifty used to coat my 32 inch flared jeans with chain oil, my mum rubbed butter on before washing (the jeans not the Garelli) came out a treat.

I still think it's the best hand cleaner I have ever used. I went looking for some a while back but couldn't find it anywhere at a reasonable price or quantity. I'm coming to the end of my orange with bits in stuff but £100 quid for a 25kg pail of Boraxo brings me out in a cold sweat

I use this stuff a lot, stops my hands cracking and drying out too.

You are prolly right, I certainly wouldn't take the bet.
For the sake of completeness, the Wurth hand cleaner is the best I have used but also using PR88 as a barrier cream following @premmington s suggestion is working well.
Even Aldi and Lidl?
No idea I only ever go in there when they have bargain tools on offer.
Unbranded stuff is just as cheap in Tesco or Asda I found.

I just use washing up liquid and sugar. I keep the little packets of sugar that you get with a drink in the car as useful with dirty hands if you visit a service station
It doesn't say that on the label unfortunately just says 'polybead abrasive' which could be anything and 'poly' to me hints at polymer etc. I did find your quote in the downloadable PDF document but wish it had been made clearer on the label. You'd expect their scumbags^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H marketing department to make a song and dance about it 'soft on your hands and soft on the environment too because we only use natural silica abrasive beads'.
I may give it a go - i'm nearly at the end of my (bought long before anybody even knew about microbead's environmental impact) orange gritty (which is probably plastic) stuff.

Stubble is the best scrubbing media for the hands, have no need for grit, sugar, abrasives, oats and things in soap, pointless rubbish.
Whoever thought it was ok to put plastic beads in soap, any manufacturers that did it, should be getting heavy fines on account of the environmental polution, in my opinion. The monies to be used to clean up some of this mess.
