Plump bob.
Cleaned up again.
De=greased using nail polish remover. Borrowed from Mrs TYA (6 years ago, I must return it soon)



Then using a rag I wiped the blackening solution over it. Again Instant colour change. Then sealed with a hard wax.

apart from a run. I got the result I was hoping for. Soft wax next time.

Will I do this again?

Yes.

Will it form a major part of my restoration arsenal?

No. But it will form a part of it.

Was it worth it?
May be, there might be other kits or methods out there, but I went with a company I have used in the past.

A good learning curve, plus lots of answers and help for others.

Looks good.
But I think a decent clear coat or a waxing will be needed,

Update.
The axe gets used for cutting kinderling.
It was left outside for 2 weeks and is still looking ok.
