would a breaker bar be covered under warrenty for both the bar and knuckle? spotted a hefty looking one in there the other day and might have it if its all covered
You can get repair kits for ratchets cheaper than replacing them.
I have more tools than any mechanic that I know but I spend less on tools in a year than a regular smoker spends on fags,
sometimes just holding/using a top quality/expensive tool can make all the difference to how you feel even if it just a plecebo.
No. Not when I tried to get mine replaced after the knuckle sheared off. And I wasn't using a extension tube on it or hitting it or anything, just a good pull and *boom* it just shattered. If I thought it was going to overload it I'd have used the inch drive facom set that would probably survive a small nuclear incident.would a breaker bar be covered under warrenty for both the bar and knuckle? spotted a hefty looking one in there the other day and might have it if its all covered
Personally I would rate Carolus over Halfords pro.

Not only that, but you can't buy the knuckles as service items seperate. I had to make my own replacement which has lasted somewhat better than the original. And I found the counter staff extremely rude and unhelpful, accusing me of abusing them. If I want service like that I'll buy from some dodgy market stall staffed by flyboys. The irony is I only ever bought two breakers bars and a ratchet from Halford's to try them out, and I picked the worst items they have from a sustainability point of view it seems.
It's always slightly cheaper than GeDore too despite the fact it's the same gear.Halfords pro is mid range and for most people they are perfectly fine. It's like Teng, Britool and Carolus.
Personally I don't like their spanners, too thin and skinny. Also the odd one I have have started rusting.
Facom have nothing to do with Halfords. 'most' of the Facom stuff is made in France and what isn't is done over seas in the Stanley group production facilities.
Personally I would rate Carolus over Halfords pro. In fact some of the Carolus stuff is made in Germany which is no surprise as they are in the Gedore group.
If you are thinking of buying a torque wrench I would really advise checking out Carolus before spending your money on Halfords.
Your not alone regarding the SO warranty replacement. While the gear is bang on the attitude to replacement is at the other end of the scale. It's because they are self employed and have to justify the return them selves. If they can't get it replaced they lose out. Please dont be swayed by the rubbish treatment by snap on agent I had as a lad , maybe a one off, and as I stated that was a pair side cutters, no experiance on the spanners as I wont buy them on principle, they may well be the best made/to use ever.
I have been using craftsman spanners and find them very good, I seriously abuse them and no problems.Arther
