We have one at work. A quick t joint on 2mm steel could take my 15 stone jumping on it and it just bent. Really surprised me how strong it wasI bet that weld could be broken with two fingers though. There’s obviously not enough heat put in to achieve much.
I'm waiting for the Parkside versionAnyone know when the banggood version is being released?

Only after I posted. Its been a long morningDid you check the date of the thread?
Pretty sure for most - yes please!I’ve got some interesting brochures about the use of laser welders and the safety requirements if anyone would fancy a read? Happy to post them.
me too, no real idea why he was banned, but I think it was mutualI miss TechnicAl.
We’ve taken on an exclusive UK distribution for LC lasers (Laser Comercial) which are a Spanish manufacturer of handheld laser welding machines and cleaners.
Having seen what they can do and their quality in the flesh I can say that on sheet metal 6MM and under they’re absolutely unreal. The speed they can be run at and ease of use is unrivalled by any arc welding machine, which should help companies improve their production speeds as well as overcome the issue of finding welding staff.
The welds are very strong and can’t be broken with ease.
There are downsides to handheld laser welding such as the requirement of near perfect fit up for components that are to be welded and the safety stipulations of using a class 4 laser products. There are certainly a lot of great scenarios for using hand held laser welding and, having been in the office for the last two months fielding enquiries, I can certainly say the interest is growing in the industry.

My concern is too fast of heating in too narrow of a heat effected zone.It would be interesting to see what it would be like on thin wall 4130 tube
