Definitely retro fit a Bridgeport one.

I kind of referred him to it more to see the control layout and principles of operation than to suggest he fit one.

The Align one can only really go directly on the end of the leadscrew and move with the table. I think the Harrison mills had a gearbox under the table with the motor hanging off that so the physical layout might work better with a small 3 phase motor.

Yes, mine is attached to the gearbox out the back.
