Don't try welding stainless steel patches in there, it will form a lovely battery to rust the rest of the arch out as soon as you add a little bit of water! And it won't weld nicely with mild steel wire.

ah ok ta. its all new to me.. i meant to get MS but slipped my mind lol. few people said the same. i did order some gasless wire earlier, as it will be weeks before i can buy a bottle ful of gas

got this earlier, 1.5 MS for a fiver, and 12quid for the reel as damaged edge. .8 flux.
